We have seen the continuous growth of social media since 2008. Facebook has taken the highest advantage of this constant growth and currently they have around 1.71 Billon monthly active users. The most interesting fact is, Facebook population is more 36 million more than the population of China.
In 2016 we can’t even think of a day without social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Google plus. In the same way, a marketing campaign can’t get success without the proper utilization of social media marketing.
As a marketer, I know you are using social media as one of your most powerful tool. If you are not, then start it right now.
I have seen lots of success stories of big brands from social media marketing. For example: Nike Women, #BetterForIt twitter campaign from 2015. A simple message to the target audience with a great image and Hash tag.

Today, I am going to share 5 must do things for effective social media marketing campaign. I hope these tips will help you a lot. I am also trying to follow these tips for my own and clients campaigns.
1. Magic of image, especially Infographic:
A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words
But when it comes to social media marketing. A perfect picture is more than that. Your marketing effort will never be succeed if you don’t use proper creative. I know, the ad copy is very important. But if your creative representation is not catchy, your target audience will never be attracted.

- It has a great creative. Visual representation is too good. Especially the large free trial circle.
- It is relevant. As everyone likes snacks, this ad grab the interest of target audience very quickly.
- Full of value. This ad has a clear value proposition.
- Clear Call to action.
Social media audiences really love Infographics as they can see a lot of information at a glance. It grabs audience very quickly. Another benefit of infographic is that, it can be distributed easily on any social media platform like Facebook, Google plus and obviously on Pinterest and Instagram.
Infographics in Pinterest and Google plus are viewed more than any other content. Also Infographics get the most share and like on these platforms.
2. Make more videos:
If we analyze most successful social media campaigns of 2015, we can easily say that it was the year of videos.
And in 2016, video is more powerful than ever. Established video platforms like Youtube and Netflix has made video content a part of our life. So why don’t you use video as a tool of your social media marketing?

Have you seen that the Clash of Clans: Revenge, official super bowl commercial has already been viewed more than 127 million times.
So think about video more seriously. Videos can give you very good reach and conversion. Video marketing can be effectively deployed through Facebook and Youtube channel.
3. Don’t forget GIFs:
Have you seen the continuous growth of Gifs in social media channels. I am mainly talking about Tumblr and Facebook.
I am watching a sharp upwards curve of GIFs growth. Your Facebook fans will be very happy to see a funny GIF posted on your page.
I am not telling that, it will increase your sales. But GIFs will increase the customer engagement (like, share and comment). And obviously that is really important to gain organic reach through social media marketing.

4. Think about Smartphones
Have you seen the growth of smartphone users for the last couple of years?
Yes, smartphone users are rapidly increasing. In the same pace, demand of responsive websites has been increased. Google is already giving more importance to mobile friendly or responsive websites in search engine optimization. Same thing goes for Facebook as well. Facebook is focusing on responsive advertisements more than ever before.
So, as a social media marketer think about smartphone users. Keep your eyes on any new application that has gained the attention of mobile phone users.
For example: Instagram and Snapchat.
5. Realize The Potential Of Facebook advertising
As I mentioned earlier, Facebook has more than 1.71 Billions of users. Can you realize the potential of the market?
